Meet The Team

Bob

Development Manager

Bob’s a qualified Secondary English Teacher, he came into education in his 30s after a career in engineering and construction. He worked in Germany & Saudi Arabia teaching English before a stint at Thorne Grammar. After that he was SEN Connexions PA for Barnsley before setting up Open Cast with Angie. His creative side is expressed through Photography.

Kieran

Trainee Tutor

Kieran knows all about Open Cast from a student’s perspective – he used to be one! He’s now our music, recording & mixing expert. He’s had paid gigs in Austria, Poland & Croatia – not bad for someone so young. Kieran’s big thing is his music – he writes and performs his own songs, the latest, ‘My Coat of Armour’ got to number 37 in the itunes singer/songwriter chart – click here to see why.  He says he’ll still talk to us when he’s famous!

Angie set up Open Cast in response to the need she identified in her role as Young People’s Engagement Manager across South Yorkshire for Connexions. Before Connexions she gained extensive teaching experience at the Ghanaian Embassy School in Riyadh where she was responsible for creating & delivering a curriculum to mirror the UK educational system. It’s Angie’s direct, personal engagement with every student’s learning that makes Open Cast work.
