Open Cast Takes Over The Running of The Base

Open Cast CIC Ltd has been supporting and training some of the most deprived young people from across Doncaster for over a decade and has an excellent track record for helping them to re-engage with mainstream education, employment and training.

At the beginning of April we took over the running of The Base Enterprise Centre, Marshgate – with all profits being channelled into Open Cast to enable us to continue to provide training, support and other life-changing opportunities for young people well into the future.

The Base will continue to offer tenants and customers the same excellent facilities - high quality, modern serviced office space and fully equipped, affordable conference, training and meeting facilities with the added bonus that their money is making a positive difference to young people’s lives.

Bob Dowling, Founder of Open Cast and Manager of The Base says, "The Base has always been a place where businesses, social enterprises and infrastructure organisations can come together.  This recent change can only make these links even stronger - bringing the third sector even closer together and making partnership working easier.  It's never been more important for organisations to share knowledge, expertise and learning for a better future and The Base is the place where this can happen."

Michelle Swann, a tenant at The Base says, "I am extremely happy about Open Cast taking over The Base and that the rent I pay will be used to support a local social enterprise that deliver dedicated services for young people facing serious life challenges.  The Base is already like a community hub and this can only grow stronger now Open Cast has taken over."

If you're a tenant or customer of The Base, you'll notice that your invoices from now on will come from Open Cast - you'll also notice that you will no longer be charged VAT!
